JUNKPDX CLEANOUT GUIDE

Planning a room-by-room cleanout with JunkPDX.

For a larger household cleanout, a room list keeps the project manageable. You can define one stage or the full removal without losing track of what should stay.

Define this visit’s rooms

Make a list of the spaces included in the pickup you want reviewed. Be specific about bedrooms, closets, the garage and outside storage. If you are clearing the property in stages, identify the stage for this estimate and the rooms you are leaving for later. A whole-house description can hide that only selected items need removal. A room list gives the company a practical starting point for reviewing volume, access and the work involved.

Use one remove-and-keep system

Apply the same labels or grouping method throughout the property. Keep small personal items and paperwork separate from the removal areas. For furniture staying in place, point it out clearly during the walkthrough. If several people are deciding, agree on the list before the crew arrives and choose one contact for questions. Consistent instructions matter more than making every room look tidy before requesting an estimate.

Show each room and its access

Send a wide photo of each included space, then add details for large or unusual items. Tell the company which floors are involved and explain stairs or other loading constraints. Include storage areas that are easy to miss in a front-room photo. The crew reviews the complete pickup before confirming the price, so make additions or changes clear if the project is still evolving after you send the photos.

Discuss a larger job as a larger job

Tell the company about the full amount, not just the first pile by the door. JunkPDX uses trucks and dump trailers, and the equipment and work needed depend on the actual cleanout. A two-hour arrival window is not a limit or a promise about the duration of the entire job. Explain any deadline and review the scheduling needs with the company rather than assuming a full property project fits a small pickup appointment.

Approve the stage you want completed

During the free, no-obligation estimate, review exactly which areas and items the price covers. Decide whether to approve the full scope or discuss a clearly defined stage. If the included items change, confirm the quote before removal begins. Approved haul-away can happen during the same visit, subject to the job and availability. Use the official JunkPDX website for current company scheduling and to discuss your property’s actual scope.
