JUNKPDX PICKUP GUIDE

Apartment pickup access: plan before the crew arrives.

For an apartment pickup, how the crew reaches the items matters as much as the pile itself. Share the building details when you book so the estimate covers the actual work.

Describe the pickup location precisely

Include the unit, floor and where the items are located. Say whether the pickup is inside the apartment, in a storage area or somewhere else on the property. A street address alone does not explain how the crew reaches the furniture. If there is a gate, access code or intercom procedure, share those instructions through the company booking process. Keep personal access details out of public comments or social posts.

Check building loading arrangements

Ask your building contact about the loading area and any access arrangements relevant to the pickup. Some properties have an elevator procedure or a designated place for service vehicles. Confirm the instructions before booking a window that depends on those arrangements. Share any restrictions with the company so it can review the plan. Booking a junk-removal appointment does not automatically reserve a building’s elevator or loading area.

Mention stairs and narrow passages

Tell the company whether the route includes stairs, long hallways, tight corners or limited elevator access. Describe large pieces such as a couch separately, including where they sit now. Photos of the item and route can help explain the job. Do not attempt heavy lifting to make the pickup look easier. The crew should assess the actual access and discuss the complete scope and any applicable charges before you approve work.

Keep remove-and-keep decisions clear

Separate personal belongings from the items to be removed, especially during a move. Point out furniture that is staying and anything shared with a roommate. Check with the people responsible for those items before including them in the pickup. If items are in a shared area, explain exactly which belong to your job. A clear walkthrough helps avoid confusion between a household pickup and unwanted items elsewhere in the building.

Confirm your estimate and available window

JunkPDX serves Portland metro and Vancouver, Washington, subject to address coverage and availability. Choose an available arrival window, then review the on-site price before removal starts. The estimate is free and has no obligation. If you approve, removal can happen during the same visit, subject to the job and availability. Use your booking confirmation for changes rather than assuming a building access change will reach the crew automatically.
