JUNKPDX PICKUP GUIDE

Planning a garage cleanout with JunkPDX.

A garage cleanout works best when the crew can see the whole job. Separate what stays, describe the items that go and leave the estimate to the people doing the loading.

Start with what you want to keep

Before booking, identify tools, stored paperwork, seasonal items and anything else that belongs in the garage. Put small keep items in a separate area where possible. For large pieces you cannot move, use clear labels and point them out during the walkthrough. The crew needs a defined removal scope, especially when useful belongings and unwanted items are mixed together. You do not have to finish reorganizing the whole garage before requesting an estimate.

Show the whole space, not just the doorway

Take photos from more than one angle so the company can see what is behind the front pile. Describe shelves, workbenches and larger items separately if they are part of the removal. Tell the crew when the job includes items elsewhere on the property, such as a side yard or upstairs storage room. A photo-based range is a planning tool; the final price is confirmed on-site after the complete pickup is reviewed.

Describe materials separately

Household clutter, furniture and bags of loose items are different from construction debris or unusually heavy equipment. Mention those materials when describing your cleanout. If an old container has an unknown contents label, ask the company about it before the visit instead of mixing it into the pickup. Clear information helps the crew plan the equipment and handling. Acceptance and any applicable charges should be discussed before you approve the job.

Plan the loading route

Explain the driveway, parking and garage access. If a vehicle blocks the work area, arrange access before the arrival window when practical. Tell the company about steep approaches, tight passages or anything that changes how the items reach the truck or trailer. There is no need to carry a heavy item outside just to request an estimate. Leave difficult lifting for the crew to assess and point out what must remain undisturbed.

Review the full cleanout together

At the estimate, walk through everything included and confirm the price before work begins. JunkPDX prices ordinary household pickups primarily by truck space, with other job details affecting the complete quote. If you approve, the crew can haul away during the same visit, subject to the job and availability. For a large cleanout, describe the full scope in your booking rather than starting with one small pile and adding several rooms on arrival.
